>>3217646I frequently shoot an event called the Fringe Festival here in town. It's a big festival with a shit-ton of little one-hour shows of all kinds. There's almost always one or two where the performance itself it super quiet and the loudest thing in the theater is my 5D3's mirror slapping away even if it's in "silent shutter" mode. It's super awkward for me.
I'm really looking forward to this year's festival when I'll be able to bring along my Fuji for those shows and shoot entirely silently (and with the ability to chimp through a viewfinder instead of lighting everyone up with the big LCD on the back of my Canon).
It's not grasping at straws. It's a legit advantage.
