Apart from a few contrast correctures the shot is natural, as in "I didn't pile up texture-ish looking wood and rocks to make a photo". Well, depends on how you define "entirely artificial".
Candid photography is interesting as well to me, but I always worry that I might appear as a creep.
What might those "good habits" be, that you mentioned?
Well, posed photography is also something I wanted to try out, night urban photography too. The f/3.5-5.6 kit lens just doesn't get the work done after the sun sets down.
