Looking for some advice on a camera purchase. I have been doing research and have found 2 candidates for a camera that seem reasonable are within the camera budget of $500 - $630. The first one is the Panasonic Lumix DMC-G7, I've read this camera is rather good at video capturing and general photography. It is available at a local camera store for $500 new in box with the default kit lens. The other one is the Fujifilm X-T10, I have read that this is a better travel camera with a decent kit lens and good jpeg quality. I have an opportunity to buy this one for $630 with the standard kit lens new in box.
The the person who is buying the camera is going on a 2 week trip to israel, she will be on foot traveling each day. She is a novice and wants to get back into cameras again and wanted something flexible. She wants the power of an SLR but the weight and size are a concern so we were thinking mirrorless with good automatic performance, that is until she can better learn to operate it manually. She leaves in less 12 days and we am going to buy one of these 2 potentially. I would really appreciate some feedback and opinions.
