> would it be reasonable to have the standards already pre-mounted on the monorail in a padded totebag or would I risk breaking the ground glass, damaging the bellows etc.?when i had a darkroom class my professor had a flightcase with padding where the body would be upsidedown and the railing would be hanging in notches on the top of the padding like image shown. if you can mimic that that would be best. i'd also get a groundglass protector like the one from catlabs (it has a cat so it has to be good)
with that you can get it out within a minute and compose and shot.
if i need to walk anymore i actually just drape my darkcloth around the entire camera and keep it on the tripod as i walk. make sure your screws are on tight because one time mine wasnt and the standard nearly slipped off. good thing the caps were on.
