You can put as much time into it as you want, but there's also just the random factor of being in the right place at the right time where any idiot could get a fantastic photo. It also lets me look back on older memories and preserve them. I do a lot of stuff outdoors-- there are a lot of really beautiful mountain hikes here, and I spend a good hunk of my weekend time climbing mountains in spring summer / hiking year round / snowboarding in the winter. There's a lot of really beautiful stuff to see out in nature, and I love getting a good nature picture.
I plan on keeping my library my whole life, it'll be cool to look back in the future on the cool places I've been and the fun stuff I've done.
