Heres another I toyed with at work this morning.
After Verdun, I went to Brittany to photograph both the Carnac stones and the remains of the Atlantic Wall.
From a remnant of the Vichy/Nazi Atlantic Wall; coastal defenses erected along much of the north Atlantic from France to Norway. This portion has been repurposed as an art installation, after the costs and associated difficulties, including the amount of explosives needed to reduce the bunkers to rubble, was deemed too high. This pillbox originally defended the mouth of the Laîta river, north of Lorient in Brittany, France.
