You'd probably preferably get a comparatively heavy Manfrotto or Benro such studio tripod that is designed to do exactly that with its center column.
You could also get it as just head, but if you have a less heavy travel tripod you'll obviously have to set the feet to a very wide setting and/or attach a counterweight.
