>>3603533I've been working towards it for a few years now, bit by bit. I'm an enlarger away now. I used to shoot and develop and then picked up painting mostly and got a digital camera for the utility of making my own stock images and ended up back into photography more seriously in recent years. It's another form of painting or printmaking for me and something I've fucked with but haven't had the chance to pursue the way I wanted with other things.
I wouldn't say the style bleeds in so much as it's a method aligned with what I was already doing elsewhere. The printmaking is what drew me towards the research and any of the philosophy is mostly my own. I'm pissed that I can draw more ire with a shitpost made in seconds here than there are photos that interest me on the whole of social media on a given week. Some element of the pictorialist lives within me but it's the shitposty all photos are a deception and you may as well take advantage of it side. This is just some broomsticks.
That and digital editing doesn't get my dick hard.
