I always feel its best to try to make the most out of any lighting conditions you find yourself in, as a sunny day will give your photos an entirely different feeling than one shot in overcast, to just say one lighting condition is inherently worse or better than another just shows that you haven't spent enough time trying to learn how to shoot in said conditions. Go shoot on a cloudy day more often OP, you might learn something about it that you like.
