im not spending hours waiting in a hide and baiting, i just go for a hike and shoot what i come across.
also i do not take photos to impress other photographers, it is the animal that is interesting not my pictures detail.
i currently use an Olympus 75-300mm, but it has no stabilization or weatherproofing which i overlooked, making awful videos.
i definitely should of bought the lumix 100-300mm instead but buying it now would be a downgrade in sharpness,
so i want to step it up to one of the 100-400mm lenses to justify the upgrade.
in theory, if i just used one of these 2 lenses at 300mm would it not have similar performance anyway?
