>>3776272I'm really fucking frustrated with this discussion. Not because people throw shit at me. This is
4chan.org, if I'd be offended by people throwing shit at me, I would not post here.
I'm frustrated because people seems geniuenly to think that this is a fair way to compare sharpness of lenses. It is stupid, but let's recap that.
Some people use 42 mpix sony camera. Other use 26, or 24 or even 12, or even 61. Oh geez, how do I factor that if I want to compare two lenses?
You control experiment in that way, resolution is similar. For example, look at this test:
https://www.opticallimits.com/canon_eos_ff/992-canon1635f28mk3?start=1And compare lens results between 50mpix and 21mpx. Even though lens has similar dead spot at 14mm at extreeme border, changing sensor provides MASSIVE boost in sharpness. And 21mpix vs 50mpix is still lower difference than 16mpix vs 42mpix.
So, post like:
>>3776264 are false. It is not a cutoff. Even when lens have weak ability, adding more resolution improves sharpness (Whoa! who could have guessed!).
So yeah, comparing sharpness just like that is simply unfair. Do I belive that if we use same sensor would make fuji 16-55 as sharp as tamron in corners? Idk, maybe yes, maybe no.
But for sure I would not be suprissed if we could have test 26mpix vs 26mpix and fuji would have same or even better center sharpness.
