>>4369271Not even 1 roll through and I already want to mod this thing. Some of the design decisions are just confounding and defy logic.
>The flash LED is SO FREAKING BRIGHT it's comical. I can't even see through the viewfinder in dark conditions. >When the mode dial is stuck between settings it glitches out: ISO blinks on and off on the screen. >Lack of exposure info in the viewfinder really is irritating, this is probably the worst thing about it. Even my 35SE with electronics from 1981 can provide basic info>If the camera is shot, turned off, and you try to advance it, it will wind over and over without counting frames>I assume the aperture is mechanically controlled from the dial, since it doesn't have any auto exposure. I would personally rather have shutter speed priority than aperture, or ideally a choice of either>Don't know what the minimum shutter speed is on A and there's no way to check or adjust it >The viewfinder really is bad as >>4369442 said - there's so much glare in sunlight (pic incoming)>Using the self-timer button to set ISO is mental I am still grateful that they made this thing, but I can't figure out what they were thinking, except maybe they were just trying to cut costs. Seems like such basic oversights in usability.
If it had a larger viewfinder with info and a proper display with controls, and a quieter AF motor, it'd be pretty much perfect.
>>4369409>comparing a new $800 camera with a 20 year old $2200 camerawhy do you people do this
>>4369335>>4369373>>4369536It has the warranty and feels very well-made so I'm cautiously optimistic that it won't randomly die. I hope MINT has learnt from their follies.
Anyway people seem to forget that many other great and reliable cameras like the Pentax K1000 and Yashica GSN were also made in Hong Kong.
>>4369409One thing I've not heard anything bad about is the lens.
It's supposedly made by Pentax and I've heard it's plenty sharp, but doesn't have multicoating like the Sonnar.
