Hey so theres going to be a vigil, I think I can handle my own when it comes to adjusting the settings like the ISO and shutterspeed, turning off auto white balance for the candle lighting etc etc. (though any further advice on that is still welcome..)
My actual question comes with the shooting of the subjects, obviously its very emotional for the people that are coming, and I don't want to be that douche that says "its a public space so I can take photos of anyone without permission" y'know?
I know its my right, legally, but morally and socially there are some lines being crossed, especially since I'm not black and most of the victims in the vigil, and thus the community will be black. Do I literally call out to people before I make the shot saying IS IT ALRIGHT IF I PHOTOGRAPH YOU? Like the whole night I'm there? I'm just having trouble visualizing how it'd go down and could use some advice on how to handle myself while there, at such a sensitive event where people may think I'm just there for my own agenda or whatever.
Also usin a D3300 with kitlens, no tripod (hopefully not an issue?)
