Good decision, OP. The Image Stabilization is superb but for Macro work you should buy the Lens Ring with Foot and mount it to either a tripod (for indoor work and lowlight work) or a monopod for outdoor daylight work... because if your camera and lens drifts forwards or backwards slightly as you take the shot, your subject will likely not be in focus.
I used an external flash for this picture.
