With splendid optical quality that's a mighty convenient pro kit lens. I was quickly intrigued by it when it was announced. I thought it'll be small mid range zoom in vein of recent M.Zuiko 12-200mm f3-5-6.3. Decent performer, but leaving some performance to the higher end models, instead we got light, but still metal lens with splendid optical characteristics.
Price is contentious. You can get 12-40mm f2.8 for less used, and it features focus clutch with fully manual focusing. But if I was given an option of trading the two, I'd accept in heartbeat.
