I recently started using my binocular's chest harness and it's miles better than a normal strap, you can keep it nice and secure but still have elastic straps, so you can just pull it to take a pic without having to mess with adjusting it or anything, also you have the quick release buckles if you want to take it off if you need to get to a weird position. Mine is like pic related but there are some that come with a big pouch to keep the binoculars/camera more secure + some small pouches to keep small lenses or filters/ batteries.
I carry mine strapped under my jacket so I don't look like a dork tho
