Visual illiterates. I even left half of the vignetting in. Maybe that was a bad idea. Snapshits don't get kitschy effects, just correction. Then their spirit comes through.
There is no focal point.The photo has zero content. It is flatly lit. It is flatly shot. It's bad. If you want to edit in a ray of light to emphasize a sign and some walked on grass, photograph one to begin with. You should have shot wider. You should have shot lower. In that case maybe some toning in B&W could salvage it. But this photo as you shot it is really bad.

Now, I finally see why darktable users photos always look like shit. Yes, it's a poorly made program cluttered with crap you dont need and half finished ideas that went nowhere. If you put a shitton of effort into sorting out the mess, properly profiling your camera (and making lens distortion profiles, and, and, and...) you can get ok and even good results from raw conversion only, and any serious editing needs to be done on a 16 bit tiff in another program. But the other half of the problem is the users are clueless and tasteless.
