>>3954196I have to say, with a nearly spotless example allegedly from a single owner who seems to have stuck it in a drawer after the flash mount chipped the viewfinder off somewhere in the late 60s, it's one of the best system cameras I've ever subjected myself to. It has all the features one should want; aperture view on the lens, flash synchronized shutter speeds from 500 all the way down to B, a hair trigger shutter button flush with the body, and absolutely fuck nothing else. The viewfinder is a fresnel with a giant fine grain center patch and nothing else, it focuses to fourteen inches with the standard lens, eye relief is non-existent with glasses but I'm used to that, all the controls are miniscule but easy to use. It wouldn't fit in a smaller pocket without a pancake lens. I can't seem to find much of anything to say about it other than the lenses one yearns for are expensive as all fuck.
It's slightly smaller than a Pentax MX because of the pentaprism bump and bigger lenses and about as compact as its most recent replacement. Around the size of a barnack, way more compact than an M3. I wanted something I'd actually carry and it's already done the job. I don't know how I feel about having to take 72 photos when I load my winter roll, I guess I'll treat it like a digital.
As always, we'll have to wait to see how the first roll comes out to say anything conclusive.
