Don't be a cocky and cut your trip short by being an idiot. Renting / buying motorbikes is seriously one of the best ways to explore a good chunk of SEA...but you'll see so many mangled backpackers in hostel lobbies with legs and arms in casts lamenting the fact they have to go home cause they YOLO'd a bit too hard on motorbike. Go slow / at the pace of traffic, beware of gravel, and don't fucking throttle in a curve. The slower you go (within reason) the more you'll take in and see.
