>proper 3X10 gearingThere's a reason why my MTBs are all 3X. I upgraded the drivetrain on that FS right when 1X was hitting big, and got a lot of grief for not playing along... I went with an XT triple and Dyna-Sys cassette because reasons. Looks like I don't need to explain them to you.
I did however swap my commuters (including the one posted above) to 1X... pic related. No pizza platters, though. Kept the rest stock, just swapped the chainrings.
I was looking at Rocky Mountain fat bikes a few months ago, but for commuting in winter... but there's just no need for them in Nova Scotia. I just ended up getting another CX and putting fenders on it.
