Personally I'd get a wider angle 28mm equivalent lens. Or an adaptor which will allow you to use older lenses such as FD mount.
I prefer wide angle because I like photographing landscapes and buildings' interiors.

This is my Minolta - pristine condition.

I'm looking to get my GF a film camera for when she doesn't want to lug around her Canon AE-1. What would you guys recommend? I'm considering a rangefinder but not actually sure if that's a good idea...
