Andromeda shot with my DSLR and 70-200mm lens. I believe I had about 150 30-second light frames. Unfortunately the weather only wants to cooperate on near full moon nights, but such is the world of astrophotography.
I just picked up an ioptron GEM-28 to replace my Star Adventurer 2i, so naturally, it's going to be a couple weeks of cloudy skies before I get to play with it too.
Unfortunately, I think shooting at f2.8 blew out the core a bit too much for my liking, but I'm still learning here, so I was pretty pleased that I captured anything at all!
Getting the right exposure is still a lot of trial and error for me. Is there like a method or a formula to determine optimal exposure or are there just too many variables like light pollution, magnitude, and such to really go by anything?
