Anon, the Xpan does the opposite from turning photos into stills from a movie. You want a Pen F or another half frame camera for that, cinema cameras use film vertically. Left and right strips are from a half frame camera.

I'm making a fool of myself and saying retarded shit again. It is the same film, but it's fed vertically in movie cameras. It's like using a half-frame camera (think Olympus Pen).
On the sides, you can see the half-frame shots (18×24 mm) and in the middle the full frame (24×36 mm). The ones on the sides are equivalent to Super35 and save film, you get twice as many shots from the same roll.

thats not a full frame shot you can tell by the aspect ratio. You can scan individual frames or crop out. The only difference between half frame and full frame is that half frame shots literally take up half of one standard 35mm frame
