There's a lot of roads like this, overgrown, forgotten and taken off maps.
Some of them were from old estates full of the high rise blocks, and after they've been knocked down nature just grows over the road.
Other roads end up like this when they plan to build something, but the project fails and nothing gets built apart from a skeletal structure of roads, which then get consumed by weeds and grass.
