Your 4D has smaller photosites, due to old transistors taking up real estate from where the photosites should ideally be.

And you also let the analog signal travel very far and become degraded becore it's digitalised.

Everything you were taught were lies of an old company who wanted to save expenses.

Canon is behind in sensor manufacturing. That's all.

They use 500nm transistors between the photosensitive pixels, this means Canon sensors have less photosensitive area than sensors with new technology.

That issue is old technology, vs new technology, it has nothing to do with FF vs crop.

The size of the interconnects depend on which manufacturing technology you use in the censor.
If you are a Canon sensor, you are fucked, regardless of whether you are FF or MF.

That chart is worthless, because there are big metal walls between those pixels.

The walls' sizes are solely dependent on how technologically advanced the cameras are.
And currently the Four Thirds and APS-C cameras are behind the other two in this advancement.
