Work out what you want to do specifically and start doing it at the amateur level.
Then self promote like crazy.
Put your work on every social media platform - Insta, FB, Flickr, Tumblr, 500px, Pinterest.
Study other photographers who do what you want to do.
Copy them.
Ask others how that photographer is doing something you cant.
Do that.
Build your confidence that you know exactly how to execute the thing you have specifically decided to focus on.
THEN start marketing yourself for commissions. Do your first commissions for cheap. Take the small bucks so you can get a foot in the door and experience.
