Looking at the camelcamelcamel demand started growing from 2017 onwards so we've had a two year demand which may or may not be peaking now. With prices increasing it remains to be seen if consumers stick around and buy as much as before.
I don't think Kodak or Fuji expect this massive growth to be a long term thing, hence the price hikes to capitalise while they can instead of buckling in for long term investment.
