It's really sharp for an ancient 5x zoom but has 1.5m MFD, flares like a bitch and has no lens hood or bayonet fot it so you'll have to nig-rig a McD coke cup to it if you gonna shoot under sunlight.
Adapter (LA-EA2) focuses alright as long as lens focuses alright. Minolta 28-135 focuses with the rear element and does so almost instantly. A-mount Sony 18-55 f/3.5-5.6 uses it's own internal motor and focus is okay. Tamron 70-300 LD Di has high focus gear ratio and focuses like shit. Also an important thing to mention is that it uses DSLR-like Sony SLT focus point pattern and you can't use camera's own CDAF or PDAF.
