>>3364023Honestly, I don't know wtf is lolympus doing. Lately they're trying to make high end gear around a small sensor, which may be cool on paper but really fucking niche and not helped by some of their lenses being as big as FF equivalents, while withholding tech and lens development from their lesser cameras that make the bulk of the sales (e.g. they've had great PDAF for ages - but only on one top of the line camera while all the other ones still struggle with moving subjects like it's 2010).
No matter how much FF gear is released, there is still space on the market for a compact system with a smaller sensor, but lolympus seems to aim too high for their own good.
>some obscure Russian camera maker is going full frame.Zenit E was the most produced film camera model in the world, with 8+ million units made, so I wouldn't call Zenit obscure, more like forgotten.
And they aren't actually going full frame, they just got their hands on a few hundred Leica M 240 guts and are putting them in slightly modified bodies.
>>3364142I guess they can do the same thing they did at the beginning, when they made Pen so drastically different from G1/GH1 that the markets didn't overlap. No one seems to be considering compact rangefinder-style FF mirrorless yet, so that's a niche they could get into.
