In terms of actual quality of the photo, it's just a piss-poor result.
Gearfags that try to justify multiple thousands of dollars in equipment for severely diminishing returns are one thing, but this photo would be VASTLY improved, if taken by the same person with even a total beginner setup like a Rebel with a nifty fifty and correct settings, not to mention a decent midrange setup.
