The petition was real, the person who made it is stupid though, so it's rationale is completely wrong on all points.
The comments that have been deemed most relevant are the only ones visible now, and happen to be those written by /pee/ple after they heard about it and started realising how farcical and out of touch with reality some of the other comments were....which is intensely ironic and completely correct. Either changedotorg's editors are pretty smart, or their AI is.
