Because its a completely diffrerent experience to see -and capture- stuff by yourself. Sure, we are flooded with incredible space photos everyday. But dude, everytime I show somone the rings of saturn for the first time, they are almost crying. Seriously, try it. Astronomy (and astrophotography) is extremely rewarding. You gather photons that travelled for millions of years, and finally hit your camera sensor. Thats why I'm fascinated by this; capturing stuff that you cant see with your naked eye. Sorry for poor englisherino.
