>>4029366You focus based on the rangefinder patch. The rangefinder mechanism provides a second view superimposed in the center of the viewfinder. You'll see 2x of your subject and you turn the lens to match them up, and then that means it will be in focus.
You can also focus based on the lens's manual focus distance too, which is more "zone" focusing.
Everything in the viewfinder will be clearly in focus, all the time. There is no visual feedback for depth of field, but that's where the markings on your lens come in. In this example, shooting at f5.6 and focused around 8 feet, everything from a little past 4 feet to infinity would be in focus.
