>>3688457I'll try to answer your question myself OP. I spent a long time here a long time ago, and for a brief period it was my job to identify the memes and culture of /p/.
/p/ has had a small but persistent culture in the past. There have been some good photographers who have posted here and they have had some good discussions with each other over the years. Memes have mostly been about lampooning particular photographers or stereotypes. The style of humour was usually to not take oneself too seriously- that might in fact be the core of /p/. It was always about tearing down self-important photographers, and usually other photographers too.
/p/ was always a sort of oldfag board, left untouched by the swarms of shills and psyops visited upon the bigger ones. The diminutive size meant that a small number of posters, or even one very determined one, could leave an impact on the whole board. I'm trying to remember one poster now, who critiqued everyone ruthlessly. Might be the same guy I'm talking about in my previous post.
Anyway hopefully this rambling answers your query a little bit. /p/ is kind of lame. I kind of like it.I hope a couple more familiar faces show up in this thread.
