>>4282160My advice for handheld 4x5 is to just get a 65mm-90mm lense, and just zone focus with the groundglass. At f11-f22 you can get a great focal distance, and you don't even need think about focusing. An anatomical grip, and a universal viewfinder is really nice for handheld also.
I have a wista field and it lacks rigidity with heavier lenses. If you can afford it go for a linhof super technika V. The super designation means it has the rangefinder on the side, and you can get cams ground by sending linhof your lense.
I'm sure there are cheaper linhoff clones with rangefinders, but I don't know about them.
The linhof super technika IV I have is a really great field camera, but is not as good as a monorail for studio work.
