I'm more of a purist and tried for years to get impossible shots "the old fashioned way" but man, once you stack and mask you realize that you can go a lot further. It takes a legit chops to plan and execute a difficult photo with multiple exposures, bracketing, even masking layers, and in those cases I would say yes - it's a photo. Where do you draw the line between double exposing a tin-type and taking 30 exposures of a landscape?
