Don't feel as if you have to buy a brand new camera; used cameras are often times perfectly fine. Something like the Ricoh GRIII is something I'd suggest to someone more interested in shooting street as opposed to nature or landscape.
If you can, go seek out a few cameras that stand out to you and hold them in your hand. It's gotta feel good to hold if you plan on shooting for any length of time.
