I agree. Having composition and meaning is always nice together, but sometimes you just want a nice picture of some of your ducks to print and hang on the wall.
I mainly enjoy farm animal photography because of the challenge to compose a good shot, and the usually organic groupings, lines, etc. It's good practice and fun!
The meaning is more personal, but sometimes you get a nice one that has some greater significance.
