One of the absolute most woowoo shitbrains stupid idea in photography is that lens technology somehow peaked in the 80s or 90s and everyone buying contemporary lenses is just buying into hype. Buy or rent a Sigma 600 and use that. And if you're dedicated to having your head up your butt and using manual focus all the time well guess what? You can focus manually with a newer lens that isn't beat to shit. That piece of shit you have doesn't have the engineering, coatings, or image stabilization you get with newer lenses. If you got that thing for a stupid low price and can't afford an alternative then fine. But dudes arguing about why manual focus is better are just stupid. I'll make better shots with my Sigma all day, beginning with knowing how to use it, and its autofocus. If you're short on cash it's just a matter of time. Save your money and buy better gear.
