Definitely do not go for a DSLR, they're bulky and if you ever want to upgrade the lens, you'd be investing into an outdated system that's going to completely die in the next year. Go for a mirrorless camera like the Fuji xt20, they go for $400 used. Then, get any cheapo lens but eventually aim for the 18-55mm, it's just $300 used but so good even professionals use it for video.

I've only shot on a T3i, I want to go mirrorless and the Fuji XT20 is calling my name.

Any thoughts on the XT20 for some that shoots maybe three or four times a month?
