I grew up in a town of around 1500 people that was 25 or so minutes from the outskirts of the city. Now I live on the edge of the city and drive through my hometown on the way to work. It is about 10 minutes from where I live now and the population has increased by ~75% since I was in school 10 years ago
Pictures like yours remind me that there are lots of familiar places all over our country :)
Here is a picture of some land that has already gone the way of energy investment, as you mentioned. A couple of new solar fields have gone up around here as well that I would like to document (especially as they age, since they haven't traditionally been exposed to the kinds of elements we face in the Midwest)
