>>3285430>Aperture priority would be niceI think that both are useful in their own right: aperture let's you work freely with DoF and avoid diffraction, shutter lets you choose the level of blur (or lack of) freely and avoid camera shake. Program is a nice addition for snapshotting.
>Is the auto exposure accurate enough?Don't know precisely. I've tried to compare the metering with another more recent SLR and their metering coincide. I have yet to finish the first roll on it so I can't tell for sure.
>what's an average price>XD-7Hard to tell: some sit very high around 200€, some can be found for 50€, depending on the conditions, if it has a lens or not, and most of all luck.
>A-1Around 50€~100€. I got mine in excellent state through my nation's Craigslist equivalent with a 50mm f/1.4 (in not exactly great -but not awful either- conditions), a neck strap, and a flash for 105€ shipping included.
>FAMore than 200€. That's all I know; it's also a way more advanced and recent camera compared to the other two.
If you're lucky you can get a decent XD-7 or an A-1 for less than 100€. Personally I would have gone with the XD-7 for the design and the ergonomics and because I wasn't planning on using the program mode, but I already had two -mediocre, but handy- FD lenses so my choice was somewhat forced, although I'm perfectly happy with it.
