The problem is water clarity really can impact light so steadfast rules are a lot less useful underwater. Not sure what kind of deal you're getting...but Nikonos Vs can be pretty cheap. I got mine from KEH for $80. They currently have a green V (rarer) for $149. Grab a lens and you're looking at <$200 shipped (assuming you're in the US). The V definitely would be more useful considering the meter and slightly better underwater ergonomics.
