Into this you import your text files and your image files. I usually convert my images to CMYK at the very last because they are likely to change as the layout progresses.
Once the layout is complete, text checked and images converted you can then export the whole document to pdf. Make sure you select the Press Quality setting and that all printers marks options are checked.
The printers marks will add trim marks and a CMYK colour scale to the outside edge of the pdf. These will be trimmed off after printing. For cheap digital printing the printers will use the colour scale as their guide. For larger jobs you would get a colour proof but for small run digital jobs it’s usually not worth their while. It is worth noting that with digital printing the black can run a touch heavy so if your pics are particularly dark process them a couple of percent lighter than you would normally.
