I realised my iso was on auto in a video i shot today. But i very rarely do video - as i said: incompetence.
Cons: you have no control over your image quality.

That said, i did switch to manual to get an entirely out of focus photo a few days ago - there was a lamp on a wall in an izakaya i was in, and i just wanted a warm glow. Af would never give me that by design. But mostly it’s better than me at tracking eyes so it’s perfect for clinically sharp corporate portraits, which i do a lot of. Manual focus would be a nightmare as i like to focus on chatting to them to make them laugh. Pic related - as they laugh they jerk, and i would get very few in focus. These aren’t the ones they use in the end, but they love me for throwing these in as a bonus. They end up using them for their personal social media etc
