>>4319096I need you to ignore all these faggots circlejerking to their gear.
You want to take photos. You want to take photos that outclass your phone and let you get creative. Or maybe you just want something nice to fuck around with. Either way, ignore the cucks and grab something you'll actually use and enjoy doing it.
I am personally going to recommend Canon because I use Canon. Why do I use Canon? Arbitrary. Everyone has their biases.
ALL that faggotry aside, what you buy is up to your budget. If you want to stay low-end, grab an R10 and not an R50. The extra couple hundred bucks is worth the feature upgrade. I've been using my R50 and love it, but reading spec sheets after the fact have me half wishing I had a true mechanical shutter (R50 is EFCS which is like half mechanical). The biggest thing you need to be aware of at this price point is the use of a 'Crop Sensor'. Go google it. Not the end of the world though.
If you have a bit more coin, or just want to buy one (1) camera for a good long while even after you decide to go pro, you want a Canon camera that only has one digit. 5D, 6D, R5 etc. (Not the 7D, because Canon naming conventions suck testicles). DSLR or Mirrorless, who gives much of a fuck. DSLRs will have better battery life. Mirrorless is the future etc. Go do some comparisions with your own research if you care a bunch. Be aware that Canon's lineup at this point is fucking pricey and anywhere from 2x to 6x what I paid for my R50. The main reason you would do this is because of their 'Full Frame'. Again, go google the difference.
Be aware: Your camera brand choice, more specifically, your lens mount choice, will stay with you for a long time as soon as you start buying lenses. Lenses will cost more than your camera body in the long-run. My first two lens additions cost approx 50% of my inital camera cost.
In the end though, cameras generally hold their resale value well, and if you want to bow out and change brands or whatever, easy.
