Well I've managed to get the battery working with a bit of solder. Couldn't get the aluminium foil to stick where it needed to be.

HOWEVER it seems I have a new problem with the camera since I used it last. The Film Advance Lever triggers the shutter immediately, instead of charging the spring for the shutter button.

It seems you can repair this problem, but I'm not sure I want to open this can of worms myself. So I have a couple of new questions:

Does anyone know anyone that are good at servicing Canonets within the EU?

Or should I send my baby all the way to the UK (http://lezot.com/canon-canonet-repair-service/). Service provided seems good but for the same money I could buy a new camera.
