Good insect shots for example often are entirely set up scenes in a studio (freezing insects to move it) or even outdoors in fields. There are photographers that get up early to find insects, build light tends around it, fixate not only the plant where the insect rests on but also background plants, build the composition with choosing background structure and color, sometimes even put further dewdrops on stuff within the frame, set the camera on a tripod and wait for the insects first movements to press the shutter.
Likewise one does find high effort on every genre and as genres aren't strict, satisfying several genres at once (in one shot) brings interest too.
>Show me some meaningful macro shotsI'm not a macro photographer and I don't know what's your understanding of meaningful shots. Where for me the attached image is not aesthetically pleasing, I see high effort and interpret some context with it as I can imagine what happened before and will happen next.
