you can learn the fundamentals of camera manipulation and photograph in a wider variety of genres without faffing about with a touchscreen and missing shots with good composition. people will spend way over $1k on a phone that does absolutely nothing better than a $200 iphone X while balking at the idea of spending $250 on a nikon D3500 that does everything better than every phone camera today except one shot HDR
