>>3328685Thanks for the quick critique! You're seeing the tree tips pulled up? That's interesting, I see a color shift there (warmer) but I didn't pull them up. That's pretty much how the drum scanner can recover shadows. I'll check it more carefully in my printing file. I was quite surprised by that slide as I thought there was no way Velvia would handle that scene so I also shot one on Ektar, which I haven't done anything with.
>>3328700Thanks! Alberta is crazy beautiful, but it's funny how we all want a break from our home scenery every now and then. I take trips far from home just to see real woods sometimes.
>>3328747I've currently switched to using the Intrepid full time, though I may switch back to the Toyo in the winter with its bigger, glove friendly knobs. I'm quite looking forward to receiving their mk3 version which should have much smoother and better movements. I have the camera gear including tripod, film holders, lenses, filters, etc down to under 15 pounds for backpacking. Not bad for large format.
>>3328768Yep. Intrepid 4x5, four lenses ranging from 75mm to 210mm.
>>3328794You pretty much have to use a tripod for 4x5. None of these are cropped much beyond the borders, though I have gotten in the habit of shooting images that are more crop-friendly in case customers desire different aspect ratios in print. The slides don't need much post after drum scanning, and anyone would be a fool if they think negative film has a true "unedited" version. Remember, scanners are not visual artists just stupid machines.
Provia for this one.
